Expectations
Students are expected to attend all of their classes and make up those they miss. Please notify the office when a student will be absent from class. An absence may be made up any time within the current semester either in the same level or a lower level. Students unable to participate physically in class are encouraged to observe since observing can reinforce the learning process. Tardy students may be asked to observe class. The Dance Arts Center, LLC reserves the right, after consultation with a parent, to suspend or dismiss, with no tuition refund, any student whose attitude, attendance or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory or dangerous to self or others.
Weather
In case of inclement weather, please check the website or call the office at 816-233-5442 and a recorded message will state if there are classes.
Tuition
Tuition is based on a 36 week session. Payments may be made monthly, 3 installments, or annually (at a 5% discount). A $10.00 registration fee per student and a tuition payment is required to secure placement in class. Payments are due the first of every month. A $10.00 late fee will apply to any payments made after the 10th of the month, unless on automatic debit plan. A $20.00 service fee will be charged for any returned checks. Online credit card payments by PayPal are available for your convenience. No refunds will be given for tuition after the session has started.
Level Advancement
Students do not automatically advance to the next level each year. Although students may have mastered certain steps or combinations, our goal is to ensure the technique and strength used in performing these steps is mastered before the student progresses to the next level. Correct technique is critical to ensure the student is strong enough to meet the demands of the next level of the curriculum. Additionally, regular attendance in classes will have an impact on a student’s progression to the next level.
Annual Concert
The studio stages a performance each June to showcase the students of all classes.gives the parents and the public an opportunity to observe the total curriculum.concert this year will be June 12th and 13th at the Missouri Theater. Each dance is given the opportunity to perform in two different shows. There will be a staging rehearsal prior to dress rehearsal. Staging rehearsals will begin the week of May 24th. Dress rehearsal will be Saturday, June 6th & Sunday, June 7th, schedules will be determined closer to the actual date. It is mandatory that dancers are at dress rehearsal. Parents must also be present for the staging and dress rehearsals, important and last minute information is given out at both of these rehearsals. Students are strongly encouraged, but not required, to participate in this event as an important part of their dance education and development.
